about taylor…
Taylor grew up on Long Island, NY, studying musical theatre from a young age and discovering early on that performing was where she felt most grounded and alive. That sense of purpose shaped her work ethic and commitment to the craft, leading her to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre at SUNY Cortland, where she focused on building a career rooted in character, discipline, and storytelling.
At SUNY Cortland, Taylor centered her training on versatility and character driven work. Her collegiate credits include Erma in Anything Goes, Nickie in Sweet Charity, Edith in Blithe Spirit, and Myrtle in By Any Other Name. She also appeared as Sheila in A Chorus Line at Gateway Playhouse, gaining experience beyond the academic setting and working in a professional rehearsal environment. Most recently, Taylor performed in The Rocky Horror Picture Show at Cortland Repertory Theatre, where she served as Dance Captain under the direction of Brian Knowlton. In this role, she was responsible for maintaining choreography, supporting the ensemble, and helping guide the company through the demands of a fast paced, professional production. Taylor’s training spans acting, voice, and dance. She is a mezzo soprano with a strong belt and mix, having studied voice with Bill Daugherty and Meg O’Brien. Her acting training includes work with Deena Conley, Kevin Halpin, Shirley Serotsky, Amy Woschnik, and others. Her dance background includes ballet, tap, jazz, and theatre dance under Cynthia Halpin, Tucker Davis, Terrie Robinson, Audrey Holmes, and Stephanie Vertichio Brennan, as well as audition technique with Bob Kline. As a performer, Taylor is known for her range, commitment, and ability to fully inhabit a role. She approaches each project with clarity and intention, moving confidently between bold villains, sharp comedic characters, and confident, sensual roles. She brings leadership, presence, and emotional truth to the stage, with a performance style that is grounded, fearless, and memorable. Taylor performs with a clear sense of purpose and belonging. She is at her best when fully immersed in the work, connecting to an audience, and telling stories that demand honesty and courage.
Musical theatre is not simply what she does, but where she feels most aligned with who she is, stepping into every role with the instinctive certainty of someone doing exactly what they were meant to do.
